East Lake Varsity Club (http://www.eastlakevarsityclub.com/)

This one is tough. We have given this place three tries, and I don’t think we will go back. It is especially disappointing because it is one of the closest restaurants to us so would be extremely ideal for us to frequent.
Varsity Club has their own parking lot, however it is usually full. The good news is that there is the Publix shopping lot right there which seems to help with the overflow.
The menu consists of items that you would expect to find at a sports restaurant- from pizza, to wings, burgers, and more.
The kids menu is actually fairly large in options with a couple of side options (fries, applesauce, and celery). The meals run for $4.95 and include a drink and even a treat! We will also note that they do a Kids Eat Free night each Tuesday, which is definitely a help and always worth pointing out.
Kids Activities & Ambiance
There is always a decent size crowd but we have not had any issues with getting a seat. There are tables and booths and as a lot of places here in Florida, they also offer tables outside. Regardless of where you choose to sit, you will be able to find a highchair for your little ones. If you do get a booth, we will caution that they are pretty sensitive (at least the ones we have sat at). You can feel EVERY movement from the booth behind you, regardless of how much they mean to move.
There were no coloring sheets or activities given to us as the kids wait. There are arcade games for the kids to play in the back, but they are generally crowded with older kids making it a little challenging for the little ones. The restaurant by nature is a very loud atmosphere, with the games in the back, tvs with various sports on, and usually a lot of kids around.
I struggle with this section at this restaurant because it is decently sized and has a changing table in it. However, the table looked really dirty. I couldn’t tell if a bottle of baby powder had exploded all over it and somehow dried all on the table or if it was something completely different. The whole bathroom was dark and dirty with trash around. One of the sinks had a very slow drip to it, even when put on high. The biggest thing was the appearance of the changing table, I am not sure that I would have felt comfortable using it. So while the changing table will normally give a restaurant a higher rating, the condition of it and the overall bathroom did not merit a high score.
We have tried multiple items on the menu in hopes that we would find something we really enjoyed. On our last visit, it was a little later than we normally eat so we decided to order the boneless BBQ wings as an appetizer. We figured with a sports bar environment, wings are generally popular so should be a good call. We were wrong- they were exceptionally dry and tasted as if BBQ from a jar was lightly poured on top of them. For our meal we decided to share a pizza and that was definitely one of the better items that we have eaten there, but if we want pizza we have other places that we have found that we will go to first. The kids haven’t complained much about their meals but for us, it hasn’t been good enough to go back.
